week off of work

I have an Open House tomorrow, hopefully will help to lead to a prospective buyer... we'll see. So I was busy working on my house today. Finished painting in my bedroom, cleaned the carpet throughout the house, installed a new toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom (FUN, lol).

I just finished my week helping Habitat for Humanity. My company commits to building a house in 10 weeks with approximately 850 employee volunteers, I donate a week of my time each year. I act as a Crew Leader, so I get to be sort of the point person for a certain project. Things I did this past week: wrapping the house to prep it for siding; shingling the roof; nailing in corner boards; hanging windows. I spent lots of time climbing up and down scaffolding - which is great exercise, but also very tiring! I was very tired every night, quite banged up. This is my 4th year acting as a Crew Leader - I really enjoy being out there for a week at a time. You get to see so much progress - it's amazing what some volunteers can do with a little instruction.

Mustafa went to a birthday party tonight for a friend. On our way home, we took a slight detour to see what a park was near the place where the party was. We saw about 6 deer on the way out - they were so close to the car. We were trying to get as close as possible without scaring them. Here is a picture of one that we were able to get pretty close to.
