Joe had his football game this morning. It did not go well. They played against a really good team, and really struggled. I think as we are getting nearer to the end of the season, the kids are getting less interested in football and wanting for it to be done. I have to admit that I'm ready for the season to be over too. One of the other coaches wasn't able to make it to the game today, and the other had to leave around half-time. Leaving me to coach alone. Mitch did come out & help with the rest of the game. This was better than I expected. I think we played better in the second half than we did in the first half. We just weren't able to get anywhere against the other team.
Mustafa's game was much better. They won 34 - 14 against Johnson. Mustafa scored 2 touchdowns, and made several really good blocks, hits, etc. He told me this was a really fun game for the whole team, and that if they can continue this attitude the rest of their games should be really good. Then we went to a college fair at MCC. Real eye-opener for him. He thinks he knows where he wants to go, and what lies ahead for him, what the schools can offer him, everything. I made him talk to some of the reps for places that he wasn't interested in, and he was amazed. He said he was pretty much sold on this college that he'd never heard of before. They have a good athletic program, a great educational program, decent priced tuition, and good opportunities for scholarships.
Took Joe shopping for halloween costumes - photos of some of the ones we looked at. Jack Sparrow & Scream. We ended up getting a huge skull - sword that he is just using to play with. Maybe we'll end up getting something that goes with that - or else, just another fun toy. :)
