Today I picked out my new place. Went and looked at the one that's available now. I will be moving 10/17 - yay!! Hopefully my manager here will be able to rent out this place early. I'm hoping that I will be able to pay pro-rated rent at both places. Just gotta call the movers now & get that all squared away.
Got to talk to some people last night that I haven't in years! It was really cool. Always really nice to catch up with people. Talked with my cousin, my aunt is not doing well - very sad. My friend, and old co-worker, is going to college downtown, so we're going to have to go out for lunch one of these days - that will be great. Her boy is so adorable. He is in 3rd grade! Which is so hard to believe.
Read lots of poems from Falling Up this morning with Joe. That was great, because Shel Silverstein is one of my all-time favorite authors. Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic, Falling Up, Runny Babbit, The Giving Tree, and more - all amazing books! I have a bunch of these books, and love just reading them myself. Have always enjoyed reading the poems to the kids too. Several of the poems are easy enough for Joe to read, so I had him read a bunch to me & then I would read to him. We took turns, and he really loved it.
Had a great time at grandma's birthday party. Mom, Les, Carol, Mandy, me Mustafa & Joe were all there. We had pizza, breadsticks, chicken, cake & ice cream. Joe had some pop today - which is unusal for him. I think that, and the many, many people there to pay attention to him, were the reason he was a little goofy. He was really acting up, and starting to get into trouble when we left. He settled down quite a bit once we left though. Thanks goodness!
